The Chairman of the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator David Mark, assured that arrangements had been made for a smooth exercise on Saturday.
He made the statement while addressing members of the Convention Committee in Abuja ahead of the exercise.
Mark assured that the exercise will be smooth and transparent, although he told committee members to be prepared for challenges to ensure a credible exercise, saying “you have to be absolutely transparent.
A statement released Friday by his media adviser, Paul Mumeh, quoted Senator Mark as saying, “If you have an interest or bias in any of the midshipmen, you may excuse yourself from this assignment.”
He maintained that the stage was set for a smooth program as all logistics, materials and security were taken care of.
He added, “we are ready for the exercise, practically all of our delegates have arrived in Abuja”.
The former Senate Speaker said that the PDP had a history of conducting peaceful congresses and conventions over the years, ensuring that the outcome of this convention would strengthen the party.
According to him, “The PDP has a range of eminently qualified people to govern Nigeria. We exercised due diligence during our screening. I am confident that whoever walks out of the convention will reflect the wishes of our party. »
Senator Mark and his committee members also inspected the facilities at the Velodrome, Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, the venue of the convention.
