Arcanum MVCTC FFA attends the national convention

Staff report

ARCANUM – Arcanum MVCTC FFA students attended the 94th FFA National Convention from October 27-30.

This year’s congress brought together more than 50,000 FFA members, teachers and guests from across the country. The four-day convention featured powerful speakers, a national agricultural career exhibit, retirement speeches from national leaders, award presentations and the installation of six newly elected national leaders.

Congress activities included attending several congress sessions where members were inspired by motivational speakers such as FFA 2020-21 national leaders and keynote speaker Courtenay DeHoff. Attendees enjoyed attending the Brett Young concert, the rodeo, a tour of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and an evening of bowling.

In between a busy convention schedule, students were able to attend the annual FFA National Career Fair at the Indiana Convention Center. The career fair hosted more than 400 booths from various colleges, agriculture-related companies, fundraising organizations, the U.S. military, and auto and truck manufacturers.

FFA Arcanum graduates Levi Walker and Alex Weiss received the American FFA diploma. The U.S. FFA Diploma is the highest degree awarded by the National FFA Organization and recognizes the ability of members to demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities and achievement in agricultural business, production, processing, and service programs. Recipients received the US FFA Gold Diploma Key and a certificate to commemorate the achievement.
