At the National Convention, Chiropractors Discover the Benefits of Sustained Acoustic Medicine

ZetrOZ Systems ‘portable ultrasound technology addresses patients’ need for drug-free, non-invasive treatment that extends healing at home

TRUMBULL, Connecticut, Nov. 11, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – What do patients of chiropractors want in their treatment? The best questions are what they don’t want in treatments and what do they want between treatments, according to ZetrOZ Systems’ survey of practitioners at one of the largest national chiropractic conventions.

ZetrOZ, the manufacturers of sam® The device, Sustained Acoustic Medicine, presented its technology at the Florida Chiropractic Association’s national conference in August. Christopher Gardner, Commercial Director of ZetrOZ, spoke directly to more than 70 chiropractors to find out what their patients are looking for in their treatment.

“The overwhelming majority said their patients were looking for drug-free and non-invasive treatment solutions,” Gardner said. “Most importantly, 100 percent of the chiropractors I spoke with said their patients want to know what they can do between visits to support their recovery.”

This is where ZetrOZ and sam® come in. sam® is a long lasting, everyday, portable product ultrasound device for pain relief that can eliminate the need for pain relievers and surgery when prescribed to treat soft tissue damage. sam® has been validated in over 30 clinical studies and over 300,000 patients have been successfully treated. The therapy is widely known in the field of orthopedics and sports medicine but less so in the chiropractic community.

Gardner’s experience at the convention inspired him to write a item for the chiropractic community answering chiropractors’ most pressing questions about how sam® can help them deliver more to their patients and ultimately elevate their practices.

Gardner’s article answers questions such as whether sam® requires a prescription and what benefits sam® offers beyond those of traditional in-office ultrasound therapy. As an FDA approved Class II medical device, sam® requires a prescription from a licensed healthcare practitioner.

However, the technology has advantages not available with in-office ultrasound treatments. Because the FDA has cleared sam® for self-administration and the device can be worn discreetly, patients can go about their daily activities while receiving treatment, making treatment easily accessible and easy to regulate.

In addition, sam® uses long duration 3 MHz continuous ultrasound rather than the short 15 minute 3 MHz ultrasound typically provided in clinical settings. Traditional ultrasound produces deep soothing heat, good for therapeutic benefits requiring pain relief, but also requires the ultrasound unit to be continuously applied by the healthcare provider.

In contrast, the ZetrOZ sam® System uses a portable patch to deliver long-lasting ultrasound for up to four hours per day. The home and portable device produces deep and sustained delivery of ultrasound to promote healing of soft tissue. The patented processing algorithm and technology allows the ultrasound device to be placed securely on the body for long periods of time, making sam® a small, portable device. Current research also indicates that ultrasound applied for longer periods of time produces better results, not only relieving pain, but also speeding up healing processes in the body.

Studies Show Daily, Sustained Acoustic Medicine Accelerates Soft Tissue healing wounds, and provides symptomatic relief of knee pain associated with osteoarthritis and back pain associated with herniated discs. ZetrOZ technology has been proven to reduce pain in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial published in 2020 in the Pain Research Journal. A 2020 study published in the World Journal of Orthopedic Research found that 87 percent of users demonstrated improved function after using the ZetrOZ samⓇ device.

Gardner notes that surgeons, physicians, physiotherapists, athletic clinics, and professional and college athletic programs have discovered the benefits of ZetrOz technology. ZetrOZ customers and patients say the technology allows athletes to return to play sooner and employees to return to work faster. One study found that workers’ compensation claims were reduced by an average of $ 27,000 when injured people used sam®.

Results like these are the reason large organizations recognize and embrace sam® technology. Recently, a national network of health centers of the Department of Veterans Affairs used ZetrOz technology. Gardner’s article outlines the benefits specifically for chiropractors and their patients.

“The sam® device is ideal for chiropractic treatment regimens,” said Gardner. “The technology is designed for outpatient use and beneficial for rehabilitation and pain management. The problem is simply to introduce the device to the chiropractic community, as they fully understand the therapeutic benefits that sam® offers to help heal soft tissue injuries and manage pain. . “
