In March, FEDS Protection joined the Federal Managers Association (FMA) for the FMA’s 84th Annual National Convention in Alexandria, Virginia. The Convention marked the 14th year of FEDS Protection’s partnership with FMA. After the past few years of virtual events, the Convention was a welcome opportunity for FEDS to reconnect in person with FMA members.
At Congress, FMA delegates heard from an outstanding line-up of speakers, including Kiran Ahuja, Director of the Office of Personnel Management. Tony Vergnetti, President and Founder of FEDS, and Sam Swoyer, Director of Operations and Risk Management of FEDS, also reached out to many FMA chapter leaders to discuss learning opportunities for federal managers. We look forward to presenting informational webinars on Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) for Federal Managers to AMF members across the country.
The LIP offered by the FEDS is an integral part of any federal manager’s toolkit, especially in an environment that has provided federal managers with unprecedented testing. Todd Wells, Executive Director of FMA, said, “In today’s challenging workplace, federal managers are faced with a wide range of decisions requiring split-second answers in a ‘do more with less “. Purchasing professional liability coverage, as offered by FEDS, can provide these managers with a safety net should their decisions lead to forms of legal review. I recommend any manager with the potential for such an overhaul to obtain such a policy for financial protection. »
Since the last FMA in-person convention, FEDS has introduced a $3 million civil lawsuit coverage option for federal employees, in addition to our $1 million and $2 million liability coverage options. for attorney’s fees and compensation costs in the event that you are sued in your civil capacity for acts performed in the course of your employment. The FEDS policy also includes legal representation coverage of $200,000 per incident for administrative actions and $100,000 coverage for criminal defense costs arising from actions taken in the course of your employment. Annual premiums for FEDS Protection PLI start at $290, which is less than what it would typically cost to hire a federal labor attorney for an hour. Additionally, federal managers are eligible for reimbursement of up to 50% of the cost of their PLI policy through their agency.
