LaRue County High School’s FFA program excelled at the national FFA convention last week in Indianapolis, earning gold, silver and bronze ratings and a national runner-up.
The Quality and Dairy Products team obtained the Gold rating and ranked ninth in the country.
Individually, Will Faulkner received a gold note, while Jacob Hinton, Madison Chaudoin and Andrew Reding received a silver note. In the problem-solving competition, Faulkner placed first and Hinton third. Chaudoin was placed third in the contest for milk flavor defects.
The Food Science team of Nate Faulkner, Grayson Miller, Jose Villanos and Donna Thompson received a Silver Team Rating. Individually, Villanos got a gold grade, Thompson a silver grade, and Faulkner and Miller a bronze grade.
The agricultural marketing team of Alexandra English, Sydney Pepper and Madison Wilmoth received a silver rating, and the poultry judging team of Brody Higgs, Chris Robbins, Charlotte Stopka and Tommy Wilmoth received a rating of silver. Individually, Higgs and Robbins received Silver ratings and Stopka and Wilmoth received Bronze ratings.
In the Fruit Production Proficiency competition, Jacob Hinton was recognized as one of four national finalists.
