The social media challenge is simple – share heartwarming videos or photos that evoke the stories, smiles and charming personalities of significant seniors in your life – and it comes at a crucial time when older Americans are more alone than ever, with millions of people confined to their homes and living by with no family or friends nearby.

We all have the power to help change that, so Meals on Wheels America is calling to empower our elderly neighbors before they are completely left behind. After all, there’s so much we can learn from spending time with our elders and it’s important to pass on the wisdom and stories they share with us to others, while doing all we can. to nurture their lives and let them know they are not alone. .

Many of the organization’s famous supporters will be taking to social media throughout August to share words of wisdom from older loved ones and encourage their followers to do the same. Famous attendees include NBA legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson, actors Lily Tomlin, André Burnap, Annaleigh Ashford, Danny Burstein, Gail Bean, Jalyn Room, Poorna Jagannathan, Ramona Young and Zyra Goreckiand singers Bass Spear and coffey anderson.
