National convention

The 2-day National Train Controllers Convention will be held in the city from May 21

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The two-day National Train Controllers Convention will be held in the state capital, Bhopal, from May 21. Train controllers from 67 railroad divisions across the country will attend the convention. Key issues likely to be discussed include current conditions and challenges with rail operations.

Presentations of the good work done by train controllers will be presented in each of the railway divisions. Challenges will be discussed and efforts will be made to resolve them. For this, the national convention was convened by the All India Train Controller Association.

According to the national vice-president of the association, Ajay Singh, the position of train controller is vacant, which hinders the work. This is the situation in all the mandals of the country. Barely 2,600 train controllers run all the trains safely. They demand to fill vacancies.

Also, the salary of the train controllers was good until the third salary scale, since then the salary of the grade has not been improved. The situation is such that the rank pay for the sub-divisions of the railway has also been reduced from the sanctioned cadre. They require an initial salary of Rs 4800 against Rs 4200 currently.

Railway public relations officer Subedar Singh said: “Train controllers play an important role in controlling trains as they enter from one division to another division of the railway. The two-day convention is held in Bhopal.
